Super Pets Day

Inaugural Community Event

Overview

Super Pets Day was Pets In Need’s first large-scale, superhero-themed adoption event, uniting local shelters, sponsors, and the community for a day of celebration and impact. As Marketing Manager, I helped drive over $15,000 in fundraising, secure media coverage from NBC Bay Area, and support the adoption of 8 pets. The campaign also engaged 12+ sponsors, reached tens of thousands through email and social media, and generated strong community turnout for the pet costume contest, adoption showcase, and interactive Super Pet fundraising contest.

NBC Bay Area: “Inaugural ‘Super Pets Day’ Sees Big Turnout in Menlo Park”
Published June 23, 2024

NBC Bay Area covered the first-ever Super Pets Day, a public adoption and outreach event hosted by Pets In Need in Menlo Park. The event drew a large crowd of Bay Area pet lovers and highlighted the urgent need to adopt animals from overcrowded shelters. As the marketing manager, I led the event promotion strategy—including media outreach, community partnerships, and campaign messaging—to drive attendance and press coverage.

Our team positioned the event as both fun and mission-driven, resulting in significant visibility and new potential homes for both young and senior pets. The success of the event reinforced the impact of community storytelling and themed engagement in support of animal welfare.
