Storytelling &
Writing Strategy
My Experience
I’ve written and edited more than 500 internal and external communications for a global high-tech company of 9,000+ employees—ranging from executive announcements, internal briefs, and leadership messaging to public-facing blogs, ad copy, and C-suite panel scripts.
In the nonprofit world, I’ve crafted emotionally resonant campaigns that drive donations, promote pet adoptions, and elevate brand storytelling across web, print, social media, and press. My ability to adapt voice and tone has helped organizations reach diverse audiences—from corporate stakeholders and donors to shelter volunteers and community advocates.
My foundation in writing began in journalism, where I served as a section editor for The Santa Clara, publishing dozens of pieces and mentoring fellow student writers. My work has been featured by Yahoo!, NewsDirect, The Santa Clara, and Monterey County Weekly, among others.
My Approach
To me, writing is both a craft and a calling. I believe the right words—delivered with purpose, clarity, and heart—can move people to act, connect, and care. Whether it’s a two-line headline, a long-form op-ed, or a fundraising appeal, every word is an opportunity to inspire, inform, or shift perspective.
I approach every piece with intention:
Voice-first: capturing the tone that’s true to the brand and authentic to the audience
Message-driven: ensuring clarity of purpose and call-to-action
Human-centered: anchoring every story in real people, real impact, and real emotion
Whether I’m writing for a Fortune 500 audience or a small group of volunteers, I strive to make the message resonate.

Emotion-Driven Content with Purpose: “Maui Adoption Pupdate”
After spending over 300 days at the shelter, Maui finally found his perfect match—and we had the privilege of capturing his heartwarming adoption story on film. This video project highlights Maui’s resilience, the compassion of his new family, and the joy of giving a long-waiting dog the home he deserves.
About the Production:
The video was developed as a narrative interview piece, featuring Maui’s adopters sharing firsthand reflections on what drew them to him, the adjustment period, and how Maui has become an irreplaceable part of their family. Shot on location in a relaxed home environment, we focused on capturing authentic, unscripted moments between Maui and his people—tail wags, gentle glances, and all.
Post-production centered around pacing the story to reflect Maui’s calm but hopeful energy, blending interview audio with candid footage and light instrumental music to evoke warmth and connection. The result is a story that doesn’t just inform—it makes viewers feel the impact of adoption.
Adoption Update:
Since the video was filmed, Maui’s family has adopted a second PIN pup—Moana! This joyful addition was made in honor of their beloved Maggie, a former PIN alum who recently passed. Moana looks up to Maui as her gentle big brother, and the two have quickly become inseparable.
Directing a Short on Identity and Hustle: “Jayavelli”
This short-form video spotlights Jayavelli, a rising streetwear designer whose work blends raw creativity with deep roots in hip hop culture. The piece captures him in his element—sketching, stitching, and styling—with an unmistakable Outkast track underscoring the rhythm of his process.
About the Production:
This video was built to feel as bold and authentic as Jayavelli’s designs. Shot in a gritty, intimate setting, we leaned into a handheld style to echo the raw, DIY energy of street fashion. Natural lighting and close, dynamic angles brought the viewer into the flow of his workspace—thread by thread, cut by cut.
The editing style was punchy and rhythmic, matching the beat of the iconic soundtrack. Every transition, beat drop, and visual frame was designed to reflect the swagger and soul of hip hop while staying true to Jayavelli’s unique brand identity.
Style as Storytelling:
In a scene where image is everything, the visuals needed to speak as loudly as the garments. From color grading to framing, every creative choice was intentional—cool tones, contrast-rich shadows, and slow-motion details elevated the final look without losing the grit.
This piece isn’t just about fashion—it’s about culture, hustle, and expression. It’s a visual nod to where streetwear came from and where it’s headed, with Jayavelli leading the charge.
